EB:EW & braided fringe

This month’s ‘challenge’ for Everybody:Everywear is color-blocking. It’s the perfect excuse to bring out my Bright Spring colors and play. I’d forgotten how much fun it is to get dressed up and pose in my back yard! *giggle*

Technically, this outfit doesn’t meet the description of color blocking. It is supposed to be neon colors in complimentary, borderline clashing colors, for the highest visibility possible. (I looked it up yesterday.)

Logically, who cares?! I’m wearing large blocks of different bright colors. And it’s wearable! despite being in my 5th month of pregnancy.

I saw a picture of this braid in a hairstyle magazine years ago, and I’ve always wanted to do it, but been pretty unsuccessful so far. Maybe my hair wasn’t long enough at the time. As soon as I opened the door to the bathroom, where several children awaited my exit (that’s motherhood for you), my 5 yr old boy said, ‘oooooooh Mom, I like your hairstyle’…which is a good enough compliment for anyone I think. When preschool boys say something about your appearance, you must be doing something right, eh?

I’m keeping this short & sweet, because I’m posting lots of pics, and because my children are antsy to go on a family bike ride! <3

  1. I have got to get a grip on how EB: EW works, because I managed to miss it. 🙁

I think that definition of color blocking is ridiculous? Neon? Nearly clashing? Really?! Who is going to wear a bunch of different clashing neons? That would definitely not be fashionable – it would be a fashion disaster! lol

I would define color blocking as large blocks of bright colors with plenty of contrast. In other words, everyday outfits for you and me. 😉

I really like the hairstyle and the outfit (except I’m not too big on the belt craze) but it looks great on you!

    1. Thanks, I’m not sure belts are usually good on me, but I like how it keeps the sweater under control somewhat!

You forgot to list where your earrings are from.

    Gift from Abby?

    1. They are, I will add that in! Thanks Abby!
